A tool to bring order to the chaos, the article Categories, a kind of thematic indices, in which one can classify items.
This article here is one for example (like all previous also) in the Category:Tutorial
To classify an item in a category would a special type of internal reference: [[Category:Tutorial]]
- means that the item is listed in this category, by alphabetical order with and that will be installed at the bottom of the page a link to the appropriate category. (See below.)
It should be noted that such an internal link just does not generate a link in the text, but a thematic sorting. If you want to install is instead a real link to a category page in the text by placing before the word Category with a colon:
- [[:Category:Tutorial]] becomes Category:Tutorial.
You should always make sure that one uses new items are listed in at least one category. Templates or templates you take off often. But more on that later.
